TEACHING
Inside every person lies a musician waiting to blossom. Let me help you find, develop, and express your unique voice! If you are a beginner looking to learn basic musical skills, a professional wanting to train in advanced technique, or simply someone wanting to have fun and make music, I can help you achieve your goals.
Over the past 15 years I have taught students throughout Canada, Germany, Ireland, and now The Netherlands. I currently give private lessons out of the Strong Juju Voice and Piano studio in Amsterdam. Together we will develop your musical talent, build self esteem, explore creativity, and most importantly, enable you to express yourself through music.
While most active in the classical music community (I was trained as an operatic soprano), I also have experience teaching students from other musical traditions, including jazz, musical theatre, and popular music. Since music has always been a source of great joy in my life, I aim to provide a fun, open, and encouraging environment in which my students can freely explore, experiment, and discover.
What To Expect In A Lesson
I aim to help my students in a variety of technical and artistic ways. Vocal students will learn to expand vocal range, sing with strength and control of the voice, improve pitch and tone, and understand the body and its role in vocal production. A singer's greatest gift is the use of text, we will work to sing with excellent diction and use these words to make dramatic choices as a performer.

Piano students will work to build hand and finger strength, hone musical style, discover pedal technique and learn to sing through the piano. My own training specialized in the classical repertoire, so my approach will always focus on sound technique, even if you are interested in other styles of music.
Each lesson will begin with technical warmups to help safely prepare you to make music in your chosen repertoire. I am delighted to work with you in whichever repertoire excites you! If you need suggestions, I will happily make recommendations for you after we've had a trial lesson. I would love for you to bring music that sparks joy!

Trial Lesson
I recommend booking a trial lesson to see if we are a good fit. During your lesson we will warm up, make music, and discuss what you would like going forward. If you like working together, we will develop a lesson schedule for you based on your needs and musical goals.
